Privacy Policy for HIIT Life
Effective Date: May 7, 2026
Last Updated: July 21, 2026
Introduction
HIIT Life ("we," "our," or "the app") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information in our fitness application.
The short version: HIIT Life is a 100% offline fitness app. We do not collect, store, transmit, or share any personal information with our servers or third parties. All your data stays on your device.
Age Restriction
This app is intended for users aged 16 and above. We do not knowingly collect or store data from anyone under the age of 16. If you are under 16, please do not use this app.
While the app does not collect data from anyone, high-intensity interval training (HIIT) is a physically demanding activity that may not be appropriate for younger users. Parents and guardians should supervise minors and consult with a healthcare professional before allowing anyone under 18 to engage in high-intensity exercise.
Please review our Terms of Service for important medical disclaimers regarding high-intensity exercise.
Information We Do NOT Collect
We want to be crystal clear about what we do not do:
- ❌ We do NOT collect personal identifying information (name, email, phone number, address)
- ❌ We do NOT require account creation or login
- ❌ We do NOT track your location
- ❌ We do NOT use analytics or tracking services
- ❌ We do NOT share data with third parties
- ❌ We do NOT use advertising networks
- ❌ We do NOT transmit your data to our servers (we don't have servers)
- ❌ We do NOT collect payment information (the app is free)
- ❌ We do NOT access your photos, contacts, or other personal files
Information Stored Locally on Your Device
HIIT Life stores ALL data locally on your device ONLY. No data is collected, transmitted, or stored on any external server. The developer has no access to any user data whatsoever.
The following types of data are stored exclusively on your device to provide app functionality:
1. Workout Data
- Custom workout names and descriptions you create
- Exercise lists
- Workout media URLs (images/videos) you choose to add
- Workout creation timestamps
2. Timer Configurations
- Timer names and settings you create
- Interval durations (warmup, work, rest, cooldown)
- Round and set counts
- Timer creation timestamps
3. Supplement Tracking Data
- Supplement names, types, and servings you track
- Consumption logs with timestamps
- Low stock thresholds you set
- Scheduled reminder times you configure
4. App Preferences
- Notification settings
- Sound and voice announcement preferences
Important: All this data is stored exclusively on your device using iOS's secure local storage (on-device SQLite storage and the iOS Keychain). This data never leaves your device unless you manually share it (e.g., screenshots, backups). The developer has no access to any of your workout data, supplement tracking, or user preferences.
Data Loss Warning
Because ALL data is stored locally on your device, the developer CANNOT recover lost data under any circumstances.
You may permanently lose your data if:
- You uninstall the app from your device
- Your device storage is cleared or the app's data is deleted
- Your device is damaged, lost, stolen, or erased
- Your device's operating system is reinstalled or updated in a way that clears app data
- You switch to a new device without manually transferring data (or without restoring from an iCloud/device backup that includes app data)
You are solely responsible for backing up your data if you wish to preserve it. The developer recommends periodically recording important workout configurations and supplement schedules if you want to retain them long-term.
How Your Data is Used
Your locally stored data is used solely to:
- Display your custom workouts, timers, and supplement schedules
- Execute HIIT timer sessions
- Provide scheduled notifications for supplement reminders
- Save your preferences and settings
Since all data is local, we never see, access, or process your information.
Internet Usage & Third-Party Content
HIIT Life uses internet access for one optional feature only:
Loading Remote Workout Media (Optional)
When you choose to add YouTube video URLs or remote image URLs to your workouts, the app:
- Fetches publicly available YouTube thumbnail images from
https://img.youtube.com
- Displays remote images/videos from URLs you provide
What this means:
- You control whether internet is used (by choosing whether to add remote media)
- No personal data is transmitted when loading these images
- The app functions 100% offline if you don't add remote media
- YouTube/image servers only see a standard request for a public image (like visiting the URL in a browser)
All other app features work completely offline.
Third-Party Content & Services
The app may allow users to access third-party content such as YouTube videos for workout demonstrations or guidance. When you access such content:
- You are subject to the privacy policies of those third-party services
- These third-party services have their own data collection and privacy practices
- The developer is NOT responsible for the data practices, privacy policies, or content of third-party services
- We recommend reviewing the privacy policies of any third-party services you access
Relevant third-party privacy policies:
The developer does not control, endorse, or take responsibility for third-party content or services accessed through the app.
Permissions Explained
HIIT Life may request the following permissions on iOS:
| Permission |
Purpose |
Required? |
| Notifications |
Display supplement reminders and low-stock alerts |
Optional |
You can deny notification permissions if you don't want supplement reminders. The app will still function for timer and workout features. Haptic feedback during timer countdowns uses standard iOS system haptics and does not require a separate permission.
No Analytics, Tracking, or Data Collection
HIIT Life does NOT use any analytics tools, tracking technologies, or data collection mechanisms.
Specifically, the app does NOT:
- ❌ Use analytics services (Google Analytics, Firebase Analytics, Mixpanel, etc.)
- ❌ Include tracking pixels or beacons
- ❌ Use cookies or similar tracking technologies
- ❌ Include advertising SDKs or ad networks
- ❌ Collect usage statistics or telemetry data
- ❌ Monitor your workout sessions, frequency, or patterns
- ❌ Track your location, device information, or behavior
- ❌ Send crash reports or diagnostic data to external servers
No usage data is collected whatsoever. We don't know who uses the app, how often it's used, which features are popular, or any other metrics. Your privacy is absolute. HIIT Life does not use the iOS App Tracking Transparency (ATT) framework because it performs no tracking of any kind.
Data Security
Local Storage Security
- Workout and timer data: Stored in on-device, app-sandboxed storage
- Sensitive data: Uses the iOS Keychain with hardware-backed encryption when available
No Cloud Vulnerability
Since we don't use cloud servers or transmit data:
- No risk of data breaches from server hacks
- No risk of unauthorized access to our databases
- No risk of third-party data leaks
Your data never leaves your device, so it cannot be intercepted, stolen, or accessed by us or third parties.
Data Retention and Deletion
How Long We Keep Data
We don't keep any data because we don't collect or store anything on our servers.
How Long Your Device Keeps Data
Your device stores your workout, timer, and supplement data until:
- You manually delete individual items using the delete buttons in the app
- You delete the app's data via iOS Settings > General > iPhone Storage > HIIT Life > Delete App
- You uninstall the app
Note: Deleting the app's data through iOS Settings or uninstalling the app will permanently erase all your workouts, timers, and supplement tracking history. This action cannot be undone.
Third-Party Services
HIIT Life does NOT integrate with any third-party services for data collection, analytics, or advertising.
YouTube Thumbnails
When you add a YouTube URL to a workout, the app fetches a thumbnail from YouTube's public CDN (img.youtube.com). This is a standard image request that does not send any of your personal data to YouTube. YouTube may log the image request with basic technical information (IP address, timestamp) per their own privacy policy, but this is not linked to your identity or HIIT Life account (since you don't have one).
Children's Privacy
This app is intended for users aged 16 and above. HIIT Life does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under 16. Since we don't collect any data at all, there is no risk of unauthorized data collection from minors.
However, high-intensity interval training may not be appropriate or safe for children and young teenagers. The app is designed for physically mature individuals who can safely perform demanding exercise routines.
Parents and guardians should:
- Review our Terms of Service for important medical disclaimers and parental guidance
- Consult with a pediatrician or healthcare provider before allowing minors to use the app
- Supervise minors during high-intensity exercise
- Ensure proper exercise form, technique, and safety measures are followed
International Users
HIIT Life works entirely offline and does not transmit data across borders. Your data stays on your device regardless of your location. We do not differentiate between users in different countries because we don't collect or process any personal information.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in:
- App features or functionality
- Legal requirements or regulations
- Best practices for user privacy
When we make changes, we will:
- Update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy
- Notify you through an app update notification if changes are material
- Continue to honor our core commitment: no data collection
We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically.
Commitment to Future Transparency
Important Notice About Future Features:
If the app ever introduces features that collect, transmit, or store data externally (such as cloud sync, user accounts, analytics, or any form of data collection), this Privacy Policy will be updated BEFORE those features go live.
Users will be notified of such changes through:
- An in-app notification before the update
- Clear disclosure in the App Store update notes
- An updated Privacy Policy with a new effective date
Any data collection features will be opt-in and clearly explained before implementation. We will never start collecting data without explicit user notification and consent.
